WSSF Fukuoka Student Award is designed to help students gain international experience, and to expose them to a variety of research fields, methods and applications plus all-inclusive discussions,
at the next World Social Science Forum, to be held for the first time in Asia.
The award will provide financial support of a maximum of JPY 100,000 per successful applicant. This award is limited to students who are presenting either an oral or a poster presentation as a primary author.
- Applicants have to be a graduate student at the time of application.
- Applicants have to present (oral/poster presentation) at the Forum and must be the primary author of their work. Applications from co-authors will not be considered.

Selection / Notification / Awarding
Selection: WSSF Scholarship Committee will competitively select candidates for the fund among authors whose papers have been peer-reviewed and accepted by the Scientific Program Committee. The accepted papers will be carefully ranked by the Scholarship Committee in accordance with their criteria.
Notification: Successful applicants will be notified by email by 30 May 2018. Final confirmation will only be made after grantees have registered and paid for the Forum by the deadline of 5 June 2018.
The support money shall be handed to grantees in cash at the venue of the WSSF2018. The Scholarship Committee will first verify grantees’ status and qualifications to meet the requirements, by passport and certificate of enrollment etc.

Please note that this award program will be competitive and the allocation of money will probably not cover all expenses. We strongly encourage applicants to seek additional funding on their own.
